Step 1: Install the Plugin
- Log into WordPress
- Click Plugins → Add New
- Search W3 Total Cache
- Click Install Now → Activate
Step 2: Turn On the Important Settings
Go to Performance → General Settings
Turn ON:
- Page Cache → Enable
- Method: Disk: Enhanced
- Browser Cache → Enable
- Minify → Enable (Auto mode)
Leave OFF:
- Database Cache
- (Optional) Object Cache unless advised
Step 3: Set Up Page Cache
Go to Performance → Page Cache
Make sure:
- Cache front page → Enabled
- Cache posts → Enabled
- Cache pages → Enabled
Step 4: Set Up Browser Cache
Go to Performance → Browser Cache
Turn ON:
- Enable gzip compression
- Set expires headers
- Set cache control headers
Step 5: Save & Clear Cache
- Click Save all settings
- Go to Performance → Dashboard
- Click Empty All Caches
⚠️ If Something Looks Broken
- Go to Performance → General Settings
- Turn OFF Minify
- Save and clear cache again
